June 1-3, 2012, St. Petersburg, Russia: Bruce Marks, Esq., managing director of international law firm Marks & Sokolov, spoke at the White Nights Legal Forum, a legal conference which took place in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Marks spoke as part of a panel titled “Delivery Models for Trans-Border Legal Practice in the CIS Economic Area.” His presentation, “Cooperation Between Firms With Offices in Russia, Ukraine, and Other CIS Countries,” described how smaller law firms, like Marks & Sokolov, can coordinate complex matters, utilizing a strategic approach in close cooperation with efficient local counsel in various jurisdictions.
The founder and managing member of Marks & Sokolov, LLC, attorney Bruce Marks is an expert on commercial legal matters between the West and the former Soviet Union. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, U.S. Federal District Courts in Colorado, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, Tenth, and D.C. Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Marks earned his J.D. from the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an L.L.M. from the University of Cambridge, England.
